Sears Canada Inc launched its annual 'Tree of Wishes' gift giving drive this month, in a nation-wide effort to give underprivileged children a gift this holiday season.
"This is a season of gift giving and we hope that our customers will help us give as many kids as possible a happy Christmas by purchasing a gift from the 'Tree of Wishes'," said Dene Rogers, Acting President, Sears Canada.
"We are extremely proud of this campaign. It gives people the opportunity to do something meaningful for less fortunate children in their community."
Last year, more than 12,000 gifts were bought and given to children from Sears local charity partner. All Sears stores across the country work with a local charity partner who provides a list of children's wish gifts to Sears.
Inside all Sears stores, Sears Home stores, Outlet stores, and participating Dealer stores, is a large Christmas tree decorated with gold stars. Each gold star has the wish gift of a child printed on it.
Starting November 1st customers can pick a star off the 'Tree of Wishes', purchase the wish gift, drop the unwrapped toy off at Sears designated Wish Station and help make a child's Christmas wish come true.
No matter what the wish gift is from dolls to dump trucks, from board games to skateboards. Sears makes all wishes come true.
'Tree of Wishes' is part of Sears Young Futures community investment program. Sears Young Futures supports organizations that provide enriching after-school programming that inspires children and youth to believe in themselves. Sears Canada has been a strong supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada for almost 40 years.
The Sears Young Futures program also supports other youth-focused initiatives such as, I Can Swim, 4-H, and the Sears Ontario Drama Festival. Additional funds are raised through Sears in-store campaigns and customer donations of Sears Club Points.
