Upland cotton contracts concluded for 1Q 2007

Short term purchase demand by the spinning mills during the current week was described differently. There was selective interest for delivery/shipping terms in the ongoing and in the first quarter 2007.

There is obviously still demand for these dates. The price ideas in a staggering and weakening New Yorker futures market fell widely apart and mill purchases beyond the first quarter 2007 were postponed as far as possible.

In the Upland range contracts were concluded in Central Asian sorts for dates in the 4th quarter 2006 and in the 1st quarter 2007; Chad cotton for the 1st quarter 2007; West African types for the 4th quarter 2006, as well as for the 1st and 3rd quarter 2007; Zimbabwe cotton for the running and for the 1st quarter 2007, and Greek descriptions for the same period of time.

In the LS/ELS range were traded: Sudan Barakat for prompt / 4th quarter and USA Pima for prompt.
