Man-made fibres & textiles manufacturing up in Sept

According to the data of Statistics of Latvia, compared to September of the previous year, industrial output according to seasonally adjusted data rose in September 2006.

In comparison with September of the previous year, the output in September 2006 increased in the following sectors by 39.8% in manufacturing of chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibres (MMF); 26.8% in manufacturing of textiles.

The decreases in industrial output were: 10.7% in manufacturing of other transport equipment; 9.8% in manufacturing of machinery and equipment; 5.4% in manufacturing of wearing apparel.

The biggest increase in nine months was in the following sub-sectors: 25.2% in manufacturing of chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibres; 24.0% in manufacturing of textiles;

The decreases in industrial output were: 16.6% in manufacturing of other transport equipment (building and repairing of ships and boats); 2.4% in manufacturing of machinery and equipment; 9.4% in manufacturing of wearing apparel, processing and dyeing of furs.
