GSPC to tie up with ONGC for petrochemical complex

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) have tied up to construct a petrochemical complex at Dahej. ONGC will enter the emerging petroleum industry through this venture.
Investment to the tune of Rs13,600 crores will be made for the complex. A dual feed cracker having an ethylene capacity of 1.1 MMTPA, related facilities and polymer units will be set up for production of Styrene Butadiene Rubber, HDPE, PP and LLDPE.
OPaL is the most prominent industry in Dahej Special Economic Zone (DSEZ). By integrating feedstock from ONGC's C2-C3 plant and naptha from its functional units at Hazira and Uran, OPaL will operate the petrochemicals complex.
By establishing processing industries at the DSEZ, which can enhance business and exports, OPaL will catalyze economic growth in the country as well as West India.
