Even though Black Friday and Cyber Monday have passed, the average person has only completed about one-third of his or her holiday shopping.

In anticipation of the busiest online shopping season in history, retailers have bulked up their websites, adding new features and promotions to court online shoppers.

“Retailers want consumers' online shopping experience to be a good one, especially during the holidays,” said Shop.org Executive Director Scott Silverman. “Whether it's double checking personal information at check out or printing all receipts, there are many ways to guarantee a stress-free online shopping experience this holiday season.”

In response, Shop.org has put together a list of online shopping tips for consumers to help make online holiday shopping as easy as possible.

1. Plan Ahead. Having a set list of gifts you intend to buy helps minimize confusion, especially if you intend to make multiple purchases through several websites. A site which will offer current promotions of more than 400 online retailers throughout the holiday season.

2. Shop safely online by using common sense. A golden rule of online shopping is that if something seems like it's too good to be true, it probably is and you should avoid it.

3. Make sure your gifts arrive in time. Check retailers' shipping deadlines, which are featured prominently on most retail websites. The information ensures that customers understand the last day when they can place orders for arrival by Christmas or Hanukkah.
