Target plans to reap $1bn in sourcing

Target, which has sourcing operations in 51 countries, is planning to touch $1 billion mark in sourcing from India by 2010.
A sourcing operation, Target Sourcing Services/AMC, has been carried out by retailer in India since 1975.
Sourcing from India includes textiles, stainless steel, handicrafts, stationery, lighting equipment and home furnishings.
It is expected to touch $450 million mark in 2007 compared to $300 million this year.
Company is mainly focusing on US market and plans to grow to a $100 billion operation by 2010.
