As 2006 comes to an end, Trevira can by and large be content with its performance. Turnover increased significantly and along with the cost optimisation measures, it was able to offset part of the increased outlay on raw materials and energy.
There are plans to further grow business and further strengthen Trevira´s position as the most innovative manufacturer of polyester.
In the first half-year, flame retardant fibres and yarns business for the home textiles sector remained stable and recorded slight growth.
The increase in trademark applications for new Trevira CS collections in 2006 stands at 30% - a clear reflection of the importance of the brand in the contract business.
Manufacturers are investing in new technologies and introducing new yarns from Trevira in their product range / collections. Trevira intends to continue investing in developments for its customers.
Globally, there is a strong demand for high quality innovative fabrics and European designs, especially in the contract sector.
In its anniversary year, Trevira has expedited the pace of implementing restructuring measures in the company, begun after the takeover by Reliance in 2004.
The head office has been shifted to the original plant in Bobingen, which now houses finance and accounts functions as well.
At the same time, parts of textured yarn capacity were successfully moved from the Danish plant to Poland. Production in Poland is running smoothly with around 40 employees.
