African countries that import fabrics can now export apparel to the US as African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) has extended this provision from 2007 to 2012.

Chairman of the Kenya Apparel Manufacturers and Exporters Association (KAMEA) has accepted this decision with an open arm.

This decision of AGOA will help the Kenyan manufacturer to grow and contribute largely in the world textile market.

The AGOA amendments will also create opportunities for the abundant supply of yarn and fabric available in Africa for in commercial purposes including the designation of denims.
