GfK study on textile symbols

According to the GfK survey, only the “Blue Angel” is currently better known than the Oeko-Tex Standard 100: 49 percent of all those questioned stated that they knew this symbol.

This symbol is principally awarded for paints and varnishes, wallpaper, paper products and wet cleaning in textile cleaning etc.

Its high level of recognition is the result of around 25-years' work for ecologically optimised non-textile products and services.

Symbols similar to Oeko-Tex such as Otto-Versand's “Grüner Baum”, Tchibo's “TCM”, “Hess Natur”, TÜV-Rheinland's “Toxproof” or “With care from C&A”, on the other hand, come far behind the “Confidence in Textiles” label in the rankings of the market researchers, and, with one exception, do not even achieve an awareness level of 11 percent.
