Sabic negotiates with chemical plant in India for expansion

Sabic, in accordance with its plan to enhance capacity by 50 percent between 2009 and 2015, is negotiating with a chemical plant in India.
The company is expecting to enter into agreement with partner by the end of next year for production of ethylene and other chemical products.
It is planning to boost total capacity to 100 million tons by 2015, by establishing plants in China, India and Saudi Arabia, and acquiring companies in Europe and the US, agencies.
Sabic has already started development plan worth US $25 billion that will expand its capacity by a third to 68 million tons in 2009.
The plant which will be set up in India will supply chemical to local market. Sabic has started discussion three year before with China's Dalian Shide and China Petroleum and Petrochemical Corp (Sinopec) about building a plant in China.
