Competition among clothing and textile businesses in the global arena has increased due to promotion of free trade and abolishment of quota system.
The Government has realized the importance of this industry and this has prompted Ministry of Industry to join hands with Thailand Textile Institute (THTI).
This will help attract the business operators of the country to exchange ideas and textile and clothing businesses will increase their productivity. This will also improve on the quality and quantity of the textile and clothing products.
This step of Government will definitely strengthen their competitiveness in the world market.
Country's textile and clothing industry provides employment to more than one million people and generates about 300 billion baht annually. In addition, the industry shares 6.2 percent of the national GDP.
