Total retail trade up in November

Compared to November 2005, retail sales for mostly food (for example, department stores and specialised grocery stores) increased by 4.7 percent.

Retail sales for mostly durables (for example, clothing stores, stores for furniture, stores for second-hand goods, mail order houses) increased by 9.2 percent.

Seasonally adjusted, the monthly index figure for the total retail trade is 141.2 (2000=100), which is an increase of 0.2 percent since October.

The last three months (September – November), compared to the previous three months (June – August), showed an increase of 1.6 percent, seasonally adjusted.

Turnover in the total retail trade in October compared to October 2005 showed an increase of 9.3 percent. Monthly index figure for October, seasonally adjusted, is 140.9.

The figures refer to fixed prices, taking into account the number of shopping days. The comparisons refer to the corresponding period in the previous year, unless otherwise is stated.
