Vietnam Textile and Apparel Group (Vinatex) is planning to enter into agreement with Mitsui Group of Japan for developing materials used in textile and apparel industry to meet excess demand in domestic market, official source said.
In recent years, Mitsui has signed agreement with Vietnamese textile and apparel firms like Nha Be Apparel Company, Viet Tien Garment Co., No.10, Phuong Dong Garment etc. to produce suit, trousers etc.
According to industry expert, textile and apparel industry has attracted investment from many foreign companies in past couple of years, such as Daewon from the Republic of Korea has built an $8 million garment factory in HCM city, ITG of US developed a modern textile and apparel complex worth $80 million in Da Nang city.
