During the period of January - November 2006, Macao's total value of imports grew 17.1% year-on-year, mainly due to increases in import values of, by broad economic categories, Fuels & lubricants (+33.8%), Consumer goods (+19.7%), Raw materials & semi-manufactures (+14.8%) and Capital goods (+7.5%).
Meanwhile, Macao's main suppliers of imported goods still concentrated in the Asian region. Imports from Mainland China and Hong Kong, which together constituted 55.4% of the total import value, rose 23.5% and 22.1% respectively compared with the same period of 2005.
