In 2006, Vietnam Textile and Apparel Group (Vinatex) generated revenue of US $1.23 billion, of which $1.197 billion was from exports, official sources informed.
During this period, Vinatex conducted R&D activities, trade promotion activities, programmes to boost trade in domestic and international markets and study to increase production and competitiveness.
Vinatex also entered into collaboration with enterprises from Japan, Taiwan, Korea and China for developing materials used in the textile and apparel industry.
Vinatex started 43 projects with investment of about $146 million in 2006.
