Eighty new or infant business ventures will have received financing and approximately 20 could directly obtain seed capital.

“The value added of this program consists in developing the real potential of dynamic sectors in Uruguay, such as biomedicine, software, agribusiness, biotechnology, information and communications technologies, using an integrated business model,” said Soler.

“This model will allow companies with high growth potential to expand throughout the financial cycle by building their business network, promoting innovation and competitiveness, and providing know-how and financing.”

MIF, an autonomous fund administered by the IDB, supports private sector development in Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on microenterprise and small business.
