J P Mehrotra, Vice President-Finance and Company Secretary, Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Ltd (GHCL) submitted his resignation letter to the company on January 11, 2007.
Company deals chiefly in textiles and soda ash. It makes up 22 percent of local soda ash industry's net capacity.
GHCL had invested US $17.5 million to acquire 90 percent stake in American textiles giant Dan River. Recently Dan River took possession of H W Baker Lenin's assets for $6.75 million through competitive bidding.
