Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society (APCO) and workers of the handloom and textiles staged a sit-out in front of garment store for selling powerloom-made saris as handloom-saris at cheaper rate.
In order to prevent such activities, Center will soon introduce handloom mark that should be displayed on every handloom items.
APCO will open its stores in leading domestic and international airports in the country.
In 2005-2006, revenue of APCO surged to Rs112 crore compared to Rs40 crore in 2003-2004.
