Also in the past week under report, mills´ interest in cotton concentrated on the nearer delivery terms during the first half year 2007. Only occasionally, also demand for the third quarter was reported, however did not lead to the conclusion of contracts.

Overall, the business was described slightly better and the committed quantities were a little bit larger than before. Since the choice of available growths was limited, the heavyweight in the Upland range lay again on the known major origins.

Contracts were concluded in Central Asian sorts for prompt and further in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007; West African types for prompt and further in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007; as well as Greek descriptions for the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007.

In the long- and extra long staple range were traded: Egyptian GIZA 70 for prompt and Sudan Barakat for the 1st quarter 2007.
