AP Moller-Maersk will develop new container berth by investing over US $200 million at Pipavav port in Gujarat.

This investment will set up new container berth of 385 metre quay length over existing 350 metre container berth.

After investment, port can accommodate 1 million twenty-foot containers compared to current capacity of 500,000 twenty-foot containers.

The project has already started and it is expected to be completed by mid-2008.
