Domestic Wholesale Trade Index:
Change over corresponding quarter of previous year:
The overall domestic wholesale trade declined by 4.0% in 4Q2006 over 4Q2005.
Domestic sales of furniture decreased substantially by 19.1%. Sales of chemical & chemical products contracted by 8.0% - 11.9 in 4Q2006.
Conversely, sectors of industrial registered strong growths of 10.8% - 18.2% in 4Q2006. At constant prices, the overall index in 4Q2006 increased by 0.8% over 4Q2005.
Changes over previous quarter:
Compared to 3Q2006, the overall domestic wholesale trade in 4Q2006 was down by 6.9%. General wholesale trade reported the largest sales decrease of 16.6%, followed by the household furniture (13.2%).
Conversely, sectors of industrial registered growths of 17.0% and 12.3% respectively.
Foreign Wholesale Trade Index:

The overall foreign wholesale trade for 4Q2006 decreased by 2.6% over 4Q2005, down from the 7.4% growth registered in the previous quarter.
Similar the domestic wholesale trade, foreign wholesale sales of household furniture dropped by 13.4%. Other wholesale sectors that registered double digit declines in foreign trade receipts were ship chemical & chemical products.
At constant prices, the overall foreign wholesale trade went down slightly by 0.9% in 4Q2006 over a year ago.
Changes over previous quarter:
On a quarter-over-quarter basis, overall foreign wholesale trade contracted by 7.9% in 4Q2006 after two quarters of positive growths.
