"The Australian wool industry gave a commitment to retailers to phase mulesing out by 2010. AWI is working to develop alternatives to mulesing, in order to honour the commitment made by the entire industry, including the Chairman of AWGA, at the time; to retailers; to phase the practice out by 2010."
Mr McLachlan said he had used Tri-Solfen and found it seemed to give a good degree of pain relief.
“However, pain relief by itself is no alternative to mulesing," said Mr McLachlan.
