Lately, Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr Aliyu Modibbo Umar told that exporters can exploit AGOA law to their own benefit and can ship products to US and beyond with setting up of Human Capital Development Centre/AGOA Training School by Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).

He said that this Bill can assist in enhancing trade between US and sub-Saharan African countries.

He also pointed out that AGOA can also encourage economic development and reforms in sub-Saharan African countries. This Bill will give free access to US markets and investors of both the countries can hit upon business opportunities.

Products imported from Nigeria will be relatively cheaper compared to other non-beneficiary countries as a result both importers and exporters will be benefited from the bilateral trade.

Nigeria became first country to be granted Category 9 certification by US that assist exporters to ship African prints and other folklore and hand loomed fabrics to the US.
