In past few months textile industry has been facing serious shortage of electricity supply.
In an attempt to help bring balance in the supply and demand, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has announced that it would offer complete captive power generation capacity of its member facilities to Water And Power Development Authority (WAPDA).
Samir Saigol, Punjab Chairman of APTMA, said, “Now it is up to WAPDA to avail this opportunity of adding another 400 Megawatts of power to national grid.”
Statistics show that of the 350 APTMA members, over 40 had set up furnace oil based captive power plants.
