Index of import prices up in April 2007

As reported by the Federal Statistical Office, in April 2007, the index of import prices rose by 0.5% from the corresponding month of the preceding year. In March and in February 2007 the annual rate of change was +0.9% and +0.8%, respectively.

The index of import prices, excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, was 1.8% above the level of April 2006. From March to April 2007 the index of import prices rose by 0.9%.

The index of export prices increased 1.9% in April 2007 from the corresponding month of the preceding year. In March and in February 2007 the annual rate of change was +2.1% and +2.2%, respectively. From March to April 2007 the index rose by 0.3%.
