In order to recognise the global importance of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 as the world's most successful test system for potential harmful substances in textiles, the International Oeko-Tex Association adapted their website at www.oeko-tex.com in December 2006 both in terms of design and content in line with the growing need for information amongst Oeko-Tex licence holders and interested companies within the textile and clothing industry.

As part of the redesign, the number of languages in which the web contents are available was increased, and now stands at a total of nine languages: German, English, French, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Turkish. The Oeko-Tex website therefore now offers comprehensive information on all relevant aspects of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 on an international level.

This includes the philosophy and concept behind the Oeko-Tex tests for harmful substances, a description of the Oeko-Tex product classes, the latest version of the criteria catalogue, the elements of the contract relating to Oeko-Tex certification, and an outline of the certification procedure as well as advice on the use of the Oeko-Tex label for product labelling and the licence holder's own company advertising.

The information on offer on the website is complemented with numerous interactive functions such as a search option for potential suppliers with certified raw materials, an overview of brand-name products with Oeko-Tex certification, an extensive download area and an event calendar with search option.

Interested visitors can also find up-to-date information on the activities of the Oeko-Tex Association in the press and newsletter archive on the website. Finally, an integrated news feed function filters out articles related to the Oeko-Tex Standard from around 14 million articles on the Internet every day, and displays these under the menu item “News”.
