The Chinese contact office of the Hohenstein Institutes in Shanghai is looking back on two extremely successful years in business. Hohenstein Textile Consulting Co Ltd was founded at the beginning of June 2005 as an advisory and intermediary company and currently employs a number of highly-qualified members of staff under the leadership of Country Manager Rachel Huang.
The range of services on offer from the Hohenstein overseas representative agency covers a broad spectrum of textile quality tests, ranging from traditional material tests through to the evaluation of processing and fitness for purpose.
Another area of focus is product certification according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, which represents an important prerequisite for the majority of target markets.
Clients primarily include European companies who have their products manufactured in China and ensure by means of the independent laboratory tests that the textiles comply with the necessary statutory requirements and meet defined minimum quality standards.
All laboratory tests and certification processes are carried out exclusively at the Hohenstein Institutes' headquarters in Bönnigheim in order to guarantee the client a uniform standard of quality.
The inspection service offered by the Hohenstein Institutes which has recently been made available in China has also been successfully launched. This is not merely limited to an assessment of the manufactured product; it also allows for the various stages of the production process and the flow of goods to be checked on site using random samples.
This ranges from testing the raw materials and accessories used through to the monitoring of production to the control of outgoing goods and careful loading into containers. Thanks to this seamless production management and quality assessment, faults can be identified at an early stage, thus effectively avoiding subsequent costs for the customer linked to complaints.
