Historical material in the exhibition will include wool samples from 1804 and other outstanding archival pieces from the collection of the Powerhouse Museum, Australia's largest and most important museum of science, technology, design and decorative arts.
The exhibition coincides with Sydney Design Festival, one of Australia's premier design events. An annual Powerhouse Museum initiative, Sydney Design showcases home-grown and international talent from a broad range of design practices. Speakers from the Australian fashion industry will give presentations throughout the festival.
The Australian wool industry is pleased to partner with the Powerhouse Museum to present this unique showcase of a fibre that helped our nation grow.
