Focus on inspiration & experiment at Textile Weekend 2007

The heart of the Textile Museum in Tilburg pounds like never before. At present literally so, for all energy is focused on the realisation of a new entrance building, museum bar, conference rooms and auditorium. From 8 October also the existing part of the museum will be thoroughly renovated.
The museum will even be closed for a while. But before that time the Textile Museum will finish with a splashing Textile Weekend.
A weekend in which you can acquire so much inspiration that you won't have to be bored from the temporary closure until the re-opening in May. So make sure to be there on 6 and 7 October!

First aid for fashion victims In July Jan Taminiau presented his first large couture show on the stage of fashion city Paris. A number of his designs were developed in the TextileLab of the museum. If you are interested in his show or if you want to know where this designer got his inspiration, come and listen to his story. Jan Taminiau will give two lectures on Sunday, his show can be seen on screen and you can admire women's dresses from his collection.
On Saturday fashion designer Conny Groenewegen will give a lecture and will be present to help you on your way. She is a specialist in knitting and has often made use of the TextileLab.She is also familiar with the use of the laser technique. Every reason, therefore, to 'pull her by the sleeve'.
