1st edition of Techtextil India to exceed the target

Techtextil India, International Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens is going to take place at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai, 10 – 12 October 2007.

With only two months to go, Techtextil India is completely sold out. The response from international industry has been so overwhelming, that the whole country is a buzz with Techtextil India's debut.
“Already with the announcement of the fair last year, there was considerable interest among the international community, since the rapid changes taking place in the development of Indian infrastructure, the automotive industry, the medical industry, and clothing fabric industry, to name a few, were all pre-empting the development & usage of technical textiles in the huge and untapped market of India as never before” says Shammi Nagpal, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt India.
“However, we never expected such an enthusiastic turnout! With the main innovators of technical textiles registered from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, U.K., among others, we are more than convinced that our initiative to launch this event in India was indeed spot - on!”
According to forecasts made by the Indian government, the market for technical textiles, in the automotive industry, infrastructure development and medical supply is growing at a rate of 3.5 percent annually and is anticipated to reach a market volume of $9.15 billion next year.
