Textiles & apparels register highest growth in June

As per Use-based classification, the growth in June 2005 over June 2004 is 8.5 percent in Basic goods, 10.8 percent in Capital goods and 3.2 percent in Intermediate goods. The Consumer durables and Consumer non-durables have recorded growth of 13.3 percent and 27.5 percent respectively, with the overall growth in Consumer goods being 23.7 percent.

The Industrial index for cotton textiles stood at 122 in June 2004 as against 133.9 in June this year. The cumulative index for June 2004 was 122.9 and went up to 134.5 this year, same month. While the June 2005 growth in percentage terms stood at 9.8, the cumulative growth for April to June 2005 period stood at 9.4 percent.
