He stressed that political and economic issues should go together otherwise the political settlement so achieved will be short lived.
While releasing the three books that were published based on the research studies of SAWTEE and AAN, Dr. Pandey also expressed his hope that the findings and suggestions of these would provide a critical basis for revising the Industrial Policy.
During the technical session of the meeting, Mr. Navin Dahal, Executive Director of SAWTEE presented the major findings of the four studies while Ms. Yumiko Yamamoto, Gender and Trade Advisor, UNDP RCC, made a presentation on the performance of select Asian countries in the post quota regime.
Mr. Kiran Sakha, Chairperson, Export Promotion Committee and Dr. Puskar Bajracharya, Professor, TU were the discussants for the session while Mr. Purushottam Ojha, Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Government of Nepal chaired the session.
