New orders to Swedish industry up second quarter

According to preliminary estimates, new orders to Swedish industry increased by 2.6 percent during the second quarter compared to the first quarter. The increase in the export market was 3.4 percent while the domestic market was up 1.5 percent.

New orders increased by 0.2 percent from May to June. This reflected a 0.5 percent increase in the domestic market while the percentage of new orders in the export market remained unchanged.

New orders in the capital goods industry decreased from May to June by 0.6 percent, but increased by 5.9 percent during the second quarter compared to the first quarter.

New orders in the intermediate goods industry decreased by 2.0 percent from May to June, but increased by 0.3 percent during the second quarter compared to the first quarter.

The total volume of new orders decreased by 5.2 percent for June 2007 compared to June 2006. The number of working days was 19 in June 2007 compared to 20 in June 2006.
