Investments and optimisation of production processes: In recent years Trevira has not only optimised its product range and abandoned standard products in favour of specialties, it has pressed ahead with the conversion of its production base. The new plant in Poland has been producing chenille and KDK yarns for more than a year.
Production of filament yarn at the Guben plant has been equipped with three additional texturing machines, while the recently completed rebuild of a spinning unit is enabling the company to respond with greater flexibility to customer wishes.
At the main plant in Bobingen the grave damages inflicted by the catastrophic fire in the fibre spinning mill have been repaired. There has been further investment to extend production at this site too, something that was urgently required in the face of rising demand. Trevira is currently operating at full capacity.
Concentration on specialties: It is not possible for European manufacturers to remain competitive with standard products, and this applies not only to fibre manufacturers but to customers as well. The company is therefore looking to innovation and specialties. The important factor is not volume, it is rather to meet the demand for high value design, for top quality and for safety.
The implementation of the latest trends in hi-tech textiles can only function with a networking of partners who are active in the market. Service begins with the fibre, and here there is close collaboration between product developers and customers. This proceeds with the development of fabric prototypes that furnish weavers and converters with ideas as to how they can use new Trevira yarns in the creation of textile materials.
Our customers confirm the great importance of these services. Creative design guarantees capacity of European manufacturers to survive. With its portfolio of specialties Trevira is ensuring fabric makers are in a position to supply the innovative textiles the market wants. The development of Trevira CS fabrics from functional material to high quality home textiles with design strengths has provided an additional positive side effect.
