India-Pak biz communities must enhance mutual trade: FPCCI

Members of the business community of Pakistan & India must explore the possibilities of enhancing mutual trade between both countries as presently there are many items in finished and unfinished form which can be purchased from within the region at much cheaper rates as compared to buying from other countries, this was stated by Mr. Tanvir Ahmed Sheikh, President FPCCI.

While addressing the 17 member delegation of Worldwide Zarathushi (Parsi) Chamber of Commerce from India led by Mr. Menu Shoroff who visited FPCCI Head Office in Karachi to meet Mr. Tanvir Ahmed Sheikh, President FPCCI & Members of the business community.

Mr. Tanvir Ahmed Sheikh said both the countries are not buying as much products and raw materials from each other as they can and if we start buying products and raw materials from neighboring countries we can save precious foreign exchange.

Mr. Tanvir Sheikh asked delegation members to visit Pakistan where they will find lot many items which can facilitate them in producing items at much better quality and at cheaper rates and at the same time Pakistani businessmen should also visit India as it is a huge market of consumers located very close to us and much easier to explore.

The leader of the delegation Mr. Menu Shoroff expressed his pleasure and said despite of all the so called hurdles Pakistan has made tremendous progress in many items particularly in Fabrics and Textiles and now we must keep our pace with the changing scenario of the world and changing mind sets of the people of present era who set aside all political disputes and concentrate on enhancing bilateral trade which can be beneficial for both countries and people.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Zubair Tufail, Vice President FPCCI, Mr. Byram D. Avari, Chairman Avari Hotels Ltd Pakistan, Members of Managing Committee FPCCI and Mr. M.A. Lodhi, Secretary General FPCCI.
