4th International Cotton & Textile Conference successfully completed

The Fourth International Cotton and Textile Conference was successfully held on September 17, 2007 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The Conference was organized by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the International Cotton Advisory Committee and Cotton Outlook. About 460 participants from more than 30 countries participated in the event.

The theme of the Conference was “World cotton and textile market: outlook and vision for 2010”. Discussions at the conference focused on the outlook for world cotton demand, supply and prices, cotton market developments in China (Mainland), cotton production and marketing trends and investment opportunities in Uzbekistan, technological advances in cotton growing, ginning, testing and classification in Uzbekistan, and world cotton and textile market developments in India, Pakistan, Turkey, Bangladesh and Russia.

The government of Uzbekistan provided the highest degree of cooperation and hospitality to participants and organized visits to a cotton farm, a ginning mil, cotton terminal and a textile mill. Several remarkable social events introduced participants to the rich culture and traditions of Uzbekistan.
