Chi yen, yong is a versatile Fashion Specialist who has made a major contribution to the fashion industry both in Malaysia as well as other Asian Pacific region.
Very versatile, skilled and creative in all aspects of the Fashion realms which includes designing, producing and merchandising of the final product.
His involvement in the fashion industry started when he joined Trend Leader Design Kuala Lumpur/Hong Kong in 1987 as a Fashion Designer/Pattern Maker and resigned as Fashion Director in year 2000. Since then, he has worked in various fashion fields in both the manufacturing and academic sectors.
In the manufacturing sector, he has worked as a Pattern & R&D Manager of one of the largest garment manufacturing for export with 10,000 employees.
He was involved from designing to production of famous brands such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, Jantzen including other sports and casual wear for Liberty Group, communicating with oversea designer and targeting above 230 design samples per season.
Malaysian Textile Manufacturers Association is the recognised national representative body for the textile industry. It is financed entirely from members' subscriptions, entrance fees and surpluses arising from specific activities.
Membership is drawn from all sectors of the textile and apparel manufacturing, both large and small covering the fibre, spinning, weaving, knitting, garment-making, industrial textile/accessories sectors.
