In keeping with the anticipated growth potential, Ministry of textiles has kept the target of USD 10.5bn for 2007-08 for RMG exports and expects it to grow to 25bn by 2010.

To maintain this momentum, the need of the hour for the organizations is to have a work force that works in cohesion to keep pace with the growth anticipated-this needs cross functional area knowledge.

This Programme is designed for those who are desirous of acquiring export management capabilities with respect to the merchandising functions.

It would enable the participants to relate and understand the various aspects of export and help them work at managerial level in tandem with other departments effectively.

Apart from academic inputs the program provides an interactive platform and an opportunity to gain from other participant's experience. The inputs are designed to match the requirements of the related work place.

OBJECTIVE
Merchandising forms the core of all the activities in the process of apparel export. Hence a merchandiser requires knowledge of all the key functional areas.

Understanding this requirement the programme seeks to provide inputs on all the major areas of apparel exports such as fabrics, production, quality, range development, documentation etc.

The programme would also provide ability to the student to utilize this knowledge comprehensively in order to perform the merchandising functions.

Theprogramme is aimed at those who have worked in the industry for 1 year preferably as junior merchandisers, coordinators.

It would help them make a promising and rewarding career as decision makers in the industry in the positions of merchandisers, buyers, sampling coordinators, product developers etc.
