AWI to expand global presence with Woolmark acquisition

“The assets being acquired will require a significant investment through financial resources and professional expertise to return the business of the Woolmark to a positive position. The services provided to licenses in particular will also require significant investment of resources.

“Speed to the market, proximity to customers and support for licensees are all key factors in the development of AWI's business strategy. The new integrated business model will provide much closer relationships between research, development and marketing processes.

“AWI will assume control of offices in several countries around the world including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, England, France, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Holland and Portugal. Just under 100 AWS staff are also transferring to AWI as part of the integration.”

AWI has already established over 70 direct business relationships with key business partners around the world who can influence demand for Australian Merino wool. AWI will continue to focus on direct business relationships and investments.
