8-color filling feed, mobile tandem nozzles for gentle force application, wide insertion window and filling monitoring under permanent control (PIC system) supported realizing filling insertion with filament yarn from 22 to 1100 dtex, fiber yarns with 7 to 200 tex and glass slubbing with 330 tex in practical use.
We again demonstrate our strength of performance for industrial fabrics at the Techtextil 2005. In the same manner as our engineers have always reacted to all new demands of technical weavers on machines, our primary task in the futureremains forcing own developments and realizing customer demands.
• Ballistic woven fabrics in all classes of protection for civilian persons, police and military have been developed and produced on DORNIER rapier weaving machines. • Today, parts of sports car bodywork and all kinds of sport equipment as well as components of modern aircraft are manufactured from carbon and glass fibers (Prepregs) with high tensile strength, limited extensibility but susceptible to breaking. • Car seat covers present similar tasks for both types of weaving machines. DORNIER air-jet weaving machines have proven themselves when processing classic yarn materials. DORNIER rapier weaving machines with reliable filling insertion are perfectly suited for processing the difficult special yarns or new yarn developments often arising in this sector. Our customers use our system family selectively here. • Cost pressure in the automotive industry has also reached the tire manufacturers. Cords for the casings had to become cheaper despite growing quality requirements. DORNIER air-jet weaving machines have a performance of 850 rpm for these products. • Another strength of DORNIER rapier weaving machines is the production of conveyor belt fabrics. Their application is characterized by especially high tensile loads. The yarns used are of corresponding strength and volume and need a sturdy weaving machine for processing. The most extreme fabric woven by a specialized customer on our machines was a 7-layer conveyor belt weighing 7200 g per square meter. • High-density woven fabrics made of natural fibers such as flax and cotton are still in use in countries abroad. Many customers maintain their predominance in the production of high-density truck tarpaulins, tents, canvas, sails and covers from such natural fibers using DORNIER weaving machines. • Most of the products mentioned above employ the high precision and electronic intelligence of DORNIER rapier and air-jet weaving machines to manufacture precisely defined fabrics. Another machine characteristic is the force they can employ for producing high-density woven fabrics. This is beneficial for many manufacturers of sail cloth and sunshade awnings. • DORNIER weaving machines have been involved in the success of airbags ever since the development started more than 17 years ago and is market leader with over 1000 installed machines. • In sieve and filter cloth weaving shops as well as a wide range of fabric applications, monofilaments with 0.027 mm are used for filtration in the medicinal area and to produce stencils for screen printing whereas monofilaments with 0.40 mm diameter are used for household sieves and with 1.5 mm diameter for supporting sieves in paper production. These extremes are mastered by DORNIER rapier weaving machines. • Carpet backs are covered with leno fabrics for stiffening and improving floor adhesion. DORNIER replaced the older production method with leno heddles with a completely new technology using needle bars.
The EasyLeno leno method offers an extremely economical improvement in producing for glass leno fabrics used to reinforce plaster layers in house walls or, coated with corundum, as cutting and grinding disks in tools and also for the rear sides of carpets.
Meanwhile the EasyLeno technology has been further developed, thus, demonstrating additional application possibilities for technical textiles.
