Responding to reports in the travel retail trade press that Regency Duty Free has been sold to DFS Group (DFS), The Nuance Group (Nuance) confirms that no sale has been completed.

While Nuance has been in discussions with DFS about its New Zealand operations, no deal has been completed. These discussions with DFS are ongoing and are the natural consequence of the outcome of the recent Auckland Airport duty free tender.

Nuance's primary interest at this point is to assure that our dedicated and professional staff in New Zealand continues to have challenging and rewarding futures, and that our loyal customers continue to receive outstanding service every day in our stores.

Further, we wish to assure all of our airport partners of continuity of service without disruption, and development worthy of their businesses.

Importantly, the outcome of any discussions is subject to approval by the Boards of Nuance and DFS, the agreement of all our airport authorities and landlords, and the approval by any of the requisite authorities.

Nuance confirms that the financial numbers included in the trade press article are incorrect.
