Any company who is a member of EDANA and/or exhibiting at INDEX 08 is eligible to enter the competition. Companies are asked to submit their application and samples (if relevant) by 2 January 2008.
The jury
Appropriately, the winners will be selected by top professionals from the nonwovens industry. The esteemed jury, compiled of former company marketing and R&D experts, the media, academics, and European policy makers, will decide on the winners of the awards in early 2008.
The Award … a work of art designed by world famous sculptor
Each winner will receive a specially commissioned bronzesculpture and a diploma.
Designed by world-famous Belgian sculptor, Olivier Strebelle, the stunning work of art is both beautiful and representative of the diversity of EDANA's members and their products.
Olivier Strebelle, born in 1927, had already gained an enviable reputation by the age of 20 and his sculptures are displayed in major cities in Europe, in the United States and Asia.
He will design the 100 metre long series of sculptures for the new Olympic Museum and Park to be opened by the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Taking inspiration from nonwoven roll goods, end-product and machinery, the EDANA logo and from the Chinese lucky number 8 (Olympics 08, Index 08), Strebelle has designed a striking 8-position bronze sculpture which evokes many of the characteristics of nonwovens including versatility, protection, separation.
