Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) launched the latest in Australian Merino wool developments at the 6th annual China (Dalang) International Woollen Knitwear Fair (WKF).
The Government of Dalang began hosting this large scale woollen knitwear expo in 2001. The annual event has now become a famous trading platform in the industry for woollen knitwear, knitting machinery, computer design systems, yarn and fibre and woollen knitwear accessories.
AWI Global Product Development Manager, Jimmy Jackson, said this is the first time AWI has presented its range at this important event.
Dalang, situated in Dongguan City in Guangdong Province, is the base of the woollen knitwear industry in China,” said Mr Jackson.
The conference showcases fashion design from China and the world, forecasting the latest trends in woollen knitwear.
“AWI uses the event as a platform to educate the textile manufacturers in the Guangdong province about the benefits of the Australian Merino wool fibre as well as to present AWI's resource of knowledge, product development and marketing concepts.
“It is an opportunity for AWI to meet with domestic brands, garment manufacturers, spinners and knitters to showcase its latest collection of Merino wool knitwear recently launched at Spin Expo yarn trade fair in Shanghai.”
The collection is based on three platforms: • Merino Care • Merino Soft • Merino Visual
With over fifteen product developments, the showcase highlights the true versatility and durability of the Australian Merino wool fibre.
