Although ramie has not been used extensively in the textile, Chinese industry has taken a step ahead to develop it because of its strength.
Chen Xiong Wei, Secretary-General of Professional Committee of China Ramie Association recently confirmed that Xuesong Company in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, has successfully produced a kind of ramie fabric, which is 'as thin as cicada limb and smooth as silk' with 300 metric count of crude ramie fiber.
Xuesong Company, which specializes in manufacturing high-grade pure ramie fabric, has developed this new kind after going through a lot of scientific and technological innovations.
Because of high moisture absorption, breathability and antibacterial properties, ramie fabric has carved a niche in the world. This material has always been regarded as elite among the fashionistas of Europe and the US.
