30 products, which stand out because of their combination of innovative materials, successful design and intelligent functionality, will receive the Design Plus Award at the forthcoming Material Vision in Frankfurt am Main from 22 to 23 November.
The eminent jury were able to make their choice from a total of 175 submissions from 20 countries. The prize winners come from Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, the Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium. Messe Frankfurt's Design Plus Award will be conferred for the second time at Material Vision.
Responsibility for running the competition lay once again in the hands of the German De-sign Council. The prizes will be presented during Material Vision on 22 November at 5 p.m. in the Forum Messe Frankfurt.
All the winning products can be viewed in the Special Design Plus Area at Material Vision. The catalogue contains pictures and product information, as well as details of manufacturers and designers.
Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt says," For the last twenty years, we have presented the Design Plus Award at various trade fairs and in that time it has become one of leading design competitions in Germany.
For both manufacturers and designers, the award is an excellent marketing instrument; for the consumer, the Design Plus mark gives them a point of reference in the bewildering array of products available."
Andrej Kupetz, General Manager and Technical Director of the German Design Council says, "A plethora of materials innovations are being developed in the research departments of industry, small to medium enterprises, in universities and in start-up businesses.
The Design Plus award gives all these players the chance to present their innovative products and practical applications to the trade fair public at Material Vision and also to show them to a wider public."
