The 29th International Cotton Conference will take place from April 2nd to 5th, 2008, in the town hall of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Germany.

In addition to a large variety of reports the congress provides the opportunity to attend meetings of professional boards and expert panels as well as happenings prearranged by Bremen's trading firms.

The Bremen conference is the most significant event worldwide regarding cotton testing, and furthermore one of the most important international venues for the cotton trade and the manufacturing industry.

The range of topics will include cotton trade and production as well as raw material properties, the harmonization of testing methods and cotton manufacturing.

During the conference in spring 2008, the current developments in Chinese cotton production, new varieties of long staple and extra long staple descriptions and new machines for the spinning preparation identifying and discharging polypropylene will be presented.

A panel discussion will be held with experts from the USA, India, Switzerland and Australia, amongst others, concerning
the subject “Sustainability in Cotton Production”, which is presently a very controversially debated issue.

It has already become a tradition that the “Bremer Abend” offers all guests the opportunity to establish and improve contacts beyond the official conference while having a good dinner and a glass of wine in the comfortable ambiance of the “Bremen Ratskeller”.
