ICL Industrial Products will increase the price of Supresta's phosphorus based flame retardants. The price increase will take effect in all territories from December 1, 2007, subject to existing contracts. Prices will increase as follows:
- Fyrol(TM) PCF and Fyrol FR line of flame retardants will increase by 5%. Fyrol(TM) PCF and Fyrol FR are used for a range of rigid and flexible polyurethane foam applications.
- Fyrol CEF flame retardants will increase by 7% globally. Fyrol CEF is used for production of rigid polyurethane boardstock foam and unsaturated polyester resin.
- Fyrolflex BDP flame retardant pricing will increase by $0.50/kg globally. Fyrolflex BDP is used in engineered resin applications such as polyphenylene oxide alloys and PC/ABS.
- Phosflex flame retardant plasticizers will increase by 5-9% globally. These are used in flexible polyvinyl chloride as well as a variety of other applications.
Increasing raw material costs requires ICL-IP to increase the prices of these products, in order to maintain the service level and product advocacy.
ICL Industrial Products is one of ICL's three operating segments. It produces bromine, magnesia and chlorine from Dead Sea brines, and manufactures and markets a range of compounds, including flame retardants, bromides for industry, agriculture and water treatment, as well as a range of magnesia products and chlorine-based products for numerous uses. Recently ICL-IP acquired Supresta, the industry leader in the manufacture, distribution, and service of organophosphorus flame retardants.
