When asked about the present situation of the carpet industry and its expected growth, Dr P K Mishra from IT-BHU confided, “In the present scenario, the Indian carpet industry is facing stiff competition from China, Middle East and even from upcoming nations like Malaysia."
Dr Mishra stressed, "To ensure its position in the world market, we have to concentrate hard to provide better and cheaper technology to the association by providing better infrastructure and monetary supports etc. At present this industry is facing lots of difficulties, but we can hope for the betterment of the situation with the 11th five year plan.”
