Contracts for dates not beyond the first quarter 2008 had almost completely to be fulfilled from positions. West African cotton from the old crop is barely still available and the replacement basis at the origins for new crop ranges clearly higher than it is presently reflected by the quotations in New York and of the Cotlook A Index.
In the Upland range turnovers were registered in Central Asian sorts for prompt, further in the 4th quarter 2007 and in the 1st quarter 2008; West African types for the same period of time; higher Greek descriptions from the new crop for loading in the 4th quarter 2007 and in the 1st quarter 2008, as well as Sudan Acala for the 1st quarter 2008.
In the LS/ELS range were traded: Egyptian GIZA 86 for the 4th quarter 2007 and GIZA 88 for the 1st quarter 2008; Israel Pima for prompt and for the 1st quarter 2008, Israel ACALPI for the 1st and 2nd quarter 2008, as well as USA Pima for the 4th quarter 2007 and for the 1st quarter 2008.
