The German Emigration Center Bremerhaven was launched in 2005. It is the largest adventure museum of Europe on the topic of emigration: Between 1830 and 1974 more than seven Million people emigrated from Bremerhaven to the New World.

Fascination history: The exhibition of the German Emigration center allows the visitors to truly experience emigration. The various emigration stations were staged elaborately for interactive discovery.

Selected emigrant biographies accompany the visitors through the exhibition. Illustrative motives, the conditions and effects of emigration are made visual through their stories.

The Forum Migration shows current aspects of global migration and invites to search for your own migrated ancestors and the origin of your own family name.

12:30 p.m. Lunch:
After visiting the museum we will have lunch at the restaurant Natusch: Right in the centre of the fishing harbour of Bremerhaven, only 200 m from the auction halls, there is the Natusch Fishing Harbour Restaurant. It is one of the top addresses for gourmets in Germany in a really cosy atmosphere.

Shopping time in Bremen:
In addition to countless boutiques, large fashion- and warehouses, all kind of gastronomy and various cultural events, there are many amusing opportunities for social loafing: glass canopied passages, historical places, trendy subjects, fantastic bargains.

12:30 p.m. Lunch in the press tavern “Presse Bar Cuisine”:
This downtown restaurant has a special gastronomic concept offering recreation after loafing through the city of Bremen. Classical European cooking has been shaped by seasonal and regional influences.
